Making the grass greener at Dunwoodie Golf Course
Work will soon begin on the $2.3 million replacement of the old irrigation system at Dunwoodie Golf Course. The new, modern system is designed to make the grass greener and the playing more enjoyable. The system will be entirely computerized and can be controlled remotely by staff.
The project will include replacement of water lines along with shut-off valves, pumps and other major components. The new system will have additional spray heads, enabling greater flexibility. It will have the ability to pinpoint watering as needed instead of the current broadcast spraying, which can be wasteful. Landscaping enhancements are planned as well.
The project is expected to be completed by the start of the 2017 season.
