The 2017 golf season has begun for the six Westchester County-owned golf courses; of course, weather permitting.
Making the grass greener at Dunwoodie Golf Course
A new $2.3 million irigation system has been installed at Dunwoodie Golf Course in time for the 2017 season. The new, modern system is designed to make the grass greener and the playing more enjoyable. The system is entirely computerized and can be controlled remotely by staff.
The project included the replacement of water lines along with shut-off valves, pumps and other major components. The new system has additional spray heads, enabling greater flexibility. It has the ability to pinpoint watering as needed instead of the current broadcast spraying, which can be wasteful. Landscaping enhancements were part of the project.
